Plant Care

• Light: Bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sunlight but thrives in filtered light for optimal color.
• Water: Water the central cup of the plant (the rosette), keeping it filled with water. Change the water every 1-2 weeks to prevent stagnation. Water the soil lightly as it dries out, but don’t let it become soggy.
• Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures between 60-85°F (16-29°C). Avoid cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
• Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity. Mist regularly or use a humidity tray if the air is dry.
• Soil: Well-draining, lightweight potting mix, such as an orchid or bromeliad mix.
• Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength once a month during the growing season (spring to summer).
• Pruning: Remove the spent flower once it fades. The plant will eventually die after blooming, but it will produce pups (baby plants) at the base.
• Pests: Can attract mealybugs or aphids. Treat with insecticidal soap if needed.
• Toxicity: Non-toxic to pets, making it safe for homes with animals.
