Plant Care

  • Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Water: Keep soil evenly moist, but not soggy. Water when the top inch feels dry, ensuring good drainage.
  • Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures (65-80°F / 18-27°C). Avoid temperatures below 60°F (15°C) and cold drafts.
  • Humidity: Enjoys high humidity. Mist regularly, use a humidity tray, or place the plant in a more humid room (like a bathroom).
  • Soil: Well-draining, peat-based potting mix. A general houseplant mix with added perlite works well.
  • Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring to summer).
  • Pruning: Remove any dead or yellowing leaves to keep the plant tidy.
  • Pests: Can attract spider mites or aphids. Treat with insecticidal soap if needed.
  • Toxicity: Non-toxic to pets, safe for homes with animals.
