Plant Care

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate lower light, but its growth may slow, and the leaves may not develop the signature holes (fenestrations).
• Water: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Monstera plants like to dry out a bit between waterings, so avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
• Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C). Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
• Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Mist occasionally or use a humidity tray to help boost moisture if the air is dry.
• Soil: Well-draining potting mix. A general houseplant mix with added perlite or orchid bark works well.
• Fertilizing: Feed once a month with a balanced, liquid fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). Cut back on feeding in fall and winter.
• Pruning: Trim any leggy or damaged growth. Monstera can be easily propagated from cuttings in water or soil.
• Pests: Can attract spider mites, aphids, or mealybugs. Treat with insecticidal soap if necessary.
• Toxicity: Toxic to pets if ingested, so keep out of reach of animals.
